…So what is The Wherehouse cartoon’s story behind the song Father by Remote Control? Well if you have read the cartoon story, or the first half of it, you will begin to see that Lord Ganth is a sensitive soul who nonetheless appears to be very confident, if rather vain and full of himself, most of the time. His weakness, or “Achilles heel”, is his father, Duke Urdor, who is a military man and was always too busy to make much of a fuss of his son as he was growing up. Also Lord Ganth’s mother died while he was in his early teens. So Lord Ganth was neglected by his father right up until adulthood, then suddenly the old Duke wants him to enrol for Xarta Military Academy. This is what causes Lord Ganth to decide to steal his father’s best fighter spaceship and escape from Planet Meethra to go for a holiday on Planet Earth. So when you listen to the song, you can if you wish, also read the cartoon and hear it in context. The music video has been designed to make the cartoon come to life. Some of the action shows the characters bursting out of the cartoon frames to attack each other. It looks mad but hey, The Wherehouse is a comedy cartoon as well as a SciFi drama. Enjoy…
